Beyond Selfishness โ€” A Path to the Next Level of Existence.

We are like children. Before learning empathy, children do almost everything for selfish reasons.

For most people, this remains true for our entire life โ€” we work for selfish reasons, we make connections for it, we hate for it, we even die for it.

Most of us are so selfish that even our love is often for selfish reasons!

We have a fancy word for it though: “survival” โ€” all right, call it survival, call it selfishness, call it whatever you want โ€” but these are only useful up to a certain point.

Think about your mother’s womb โ€” it kept you alive for a certain period of time, but after that, the very thing that helped you grow, survive and thrive, started to become your doom. Had you stayed too long in your mother’s womb, you would’ve died there and probably killed your mother in the process!

So at some point, you had to come out of it, and bingo โ€” there begins the next level of your existence!

So why do you think this life is any different? Is it not also useful for up to a certain period of time, and after that, there is a new kind of existence?

Even if you don’t believe in any sort of consciousness in the afterlife, you can’t deny that there is an afterlife!

Death is simply a door to whatever awaits afterwards. Nothing you’ve achieved here will go with you there, other than probably the effects of your deeds!

So be humble, show empathy, love selflessly โ€” maybe there is hope for you yet!

This world is a tree to which we cling,
we, the half-ripe fruits upon it.
The immature fruits cling tightly to the branch,
because not yet ripe, it’s unfit for the palace.

When fruits become ripe, sweet and juicy,
then, biting their lips, they loosen their hold.
When the mouth has been sweetened by felicity,
the kingdom of the would loses its appeal.

To be tightly attache to the world,
is immaturity.
As long as you are an embryo,
all you think about is sipping blood.

There’s more to be said,
But let the Holy Spirit tell it.
